Rick Bernhisel (a pseudonym) unfolds his journey with honesty, humor and insights tailored to the audience at hand. Much like A Double Shot of Recovery, his speeches are candid but not uncouth. He connects with the listener and builds to a message of hope. Rick is easy going and never talks down to his audience. He naturally bonds with people because he honestly cares about their recovery … and it shows.
Rick is comfortable in front of audiences of all sizes, having spoken at large business conferences since 1996 and about his journey in recovery since 2007. Rick can tailor his message to alcoholics/addicts, the mentally ill or those with the co-occurring disorders of addiction and mental illness. With over 40% of those in recovery also facing a dual diagnosis of mental illness (depression, anxiety-related, bipolar or schizophrenia) his message is appropriate for all groups of recovering people. Rick believes in freely giving what was so freely given to him. There is no speaker fee, just the normal handling of travel expenses common in the recovery community.
